As the crime rates are increasing so does the need of security guards. Whether it’s a commercial property or a residential property there will always be a need for at least one security guard. Both the commercial and residential security guards have many things in common but there are few distinct things that create differences between them. These differences relate the scope of security services that they provide. It has been seen that the duties of commercial security guards are far more extensive than the residential security guards depending upon the nature of the particular commercial property.
Here below is what separates the services of commercial security services from that of residential security services.
Unless the residential area is as large as an estate or mansion, it’s rare to find more than one security guard. On the other hand any commercial property won’t be without the security guards such as in apartment complexes or the great condo development in your neighborhood etc. Commercial security guards kept on monitoring the CCTV cameras and do the patrolling of the commercial building over night and day.
Alarm systems and cameras
As alarm systems become more advanced they are becoming more common in both residential and commercial security guards. As compared to residential properties, commercial properties have more security alarms and cameras so do have the more security guards. The duties of these security guards are tougher as they have to not only keep the eyes on each of the camera but also have to do a survey by patrolling on the commercial property.
As the residential areas are small or if large in any case then by all hands the security guards of the residential properties still don’t have much access control. They are either restricted to the gates or to the streets but the commercial security guards have the access controls even to the elevators of the property and the one who have the authorities can also have the access to the confidential areas of the properties.
