In our current time, one may never know when someone might try to take advantage of us. It happens that when we let our guards down, we often become prone to security hazards. Therefore, incorporating a few necessary, security measures in our life can be the reason that keeps our family from harm’s way.
It is not that we don’t trust ourselves, we can’t trust the world which happens to have harmful people. Such people may not necessarily put your life in danger but their predatory behavior can lead to damaging peoples’ lives.

- Cover the cameras of you laptops and mobile devices when not in use. People can access cameras on your devices from far away location. You can also disable cameras when they are not being used. Similarly, microphones on mobile devices can also be accessed by hackers. Therefore it is better to disable microphone and cameras when not in use.
- When you provide location of your house on your mobile and GPS devices, do not give the exact location. Instead, give the location of a place that is close by.
- Do not attend calls from unknown callers. Don’t waste your time on this and avoid it as much as you possibly can.
- Any sort of medication should be kept away from children. Ensure this by hiding or locking away any medication that can result in substance abuse.
- Choose roads and paths that are well lit and populated. The last thing you want is to end up on a dark street alone at night. It is better to have some company or friends with you to walk you home especially at night.
- Keep your keys in your hands when you approach your car or home. Otherwise imagine yourself digging inside your bag, fishing for keys. This causes your attention to divert unnecessarily.
- In a situation, where you are faced with a robbery, do not fight back. Do as the robbers say, give money or possessions as they demand. Your life and safety is more important.
- Never store all your information in one place. Always keep backup of your information and keep that safe. Having all your information in the same place makes it more prone to attacks.
- Hire security if you have been receiving threats or if your life is in danger.
- Remember the contact information of your closest family members, so in case of theft or loss of your mobile phone, you can contact them.
