Security services are a must for everyone. No matter what, we need to be secured. Each one of us has to move to different places throughout the day. For days, we have to go to our work and after that, we stay at our house. This created a need to have both commercial and residential security services. Although there are some points at which both commercial and residential security has a lot in common but still there are ways in which they are different. It is noted that the commercial security of a building or a company is quite complex as compared to the residential one. Apart from this, there are several other difference between the security needs of these two. Read on to know about them:
The physical presence of security guards:
When it comes to the residential security, there are rare chances of a guard standing outside a house all the time. As there is no such need to have a trained person all the time. However, there are situations in which the physical presence of the security guard is essential i.e. when the person is quite wealthy or if they have some serious authorities. On the other hand, physical presence at the commercial places is quite common.
The complexity of security needs:
Another point at which both commercial and residential property varies is the complexity of the security needs. As compares to the residential areas, the need for the security services is quite higher in the commercial areas. As a lot of people are coming and going, there is a need to have an eye on the activities of various people at one time. This makes it quite complex. Residential security is not that complex because of the specified people entering the property.
Threats are different:
For both commercial and residential security, the nature of the threat is quite different. Whenever someone wants to peruse a criminal activity, the harm will be quite big in the commercial zone as compared to the residential zone. For a commercial building, it is essential to provide security for each and every individual in it. This makes it quite huge and complex. In the residential areas, the threat is most of the time limited to break-ins and fire issues. For this purpose, an alarm system can be installed so that the criminal will get caught.
Again there is a huge difference between the surveillance needs of residential and commercial areas. For commercial buildings, you must have a great system of cameras. They must be installed at every corner of the building so that everyone can be monitored. Within the residential areas, only a single camera or the community surveillance does the job.
